Almost too hot in summer, wonderful in spring and autumn. The view of the valley from the Gfallhof is indescribable, the path lonely and deserted. ‘The Gurschlermader is of great importance to me,’ says Andreas, ‘because my father came from the Gurschlhof and the memory goes immediately to him. Butterflies appreciate the dry climate on the sunny slope and yarrow flowers can also be found there. I also associate this mountain with some wonderful hunting experiences.
Would you also like to explore Andrea's favourite spot? Pack your rucksack and set off ... The hiking trail to the Gfallhof (1,840 m) starts at Madonna and leads steadily upwards through a radiant larch forest and unspoilt nature. The valley is always in view, the view is worth the effort of the climb, enjoy the peace and quiet, savour a beautiful day in the mountains.
Once you reach the Gfallhof, follow path 18 A and then 27 A. After a short descent, you will reach the Gurschlermader. The renovated alpine hut invites you to take a short break, not forgetting to pack some delicacies in your rucksack, as this alpine hut is closed.
Below path no. 27 A, an old path with a short cut takes to the Gurschlermader. Andreas will be happy to explain where to find it!
Another little tip from us! If you fancy a day hike, you can start from Madonna via the Atzboden (2,494 m) to the Vorderkaserhof in the Val di Fosse (walking time: approx. 5 hours). This beautiful tour takes you to a less important but very scenic peak. We will gladly pick you up from the Vorderkaserhof with our hotel bus. Otherwise, the Val Senales Tourism Association offers a shuttle service to the Val di Fosse twice a week during the summer months (reservation required).
