Grandpa Willi took over the TONZHAUS in the 60s and it has since been a family-run business. Willi was full of eagerness when starting to get things moving. But soon he had to admit that he could not do it all on his own. That was when he decided to get his sister Adelheid on board. The first employee of the TONZHAUS. She vividly remembers her first day at work: “Oh it was a mess! No bed linen, no cutlery, no pot, no food in the kitchen. My brother Willi then had to go to our neighbour of the Unterwirt farm to borrow bedding and kitchenware. I went to the henhouse and the cowshed to get eggs and milk … and our fist meal in the tavern then was a traditional Kaiserschmarrn!”.
